Engaging policymakers and stakeholders is crucial for the successful implementation and sustainability of Natural Small Water Retention Measures (NSWRM). Policymakers play a key role in shaping and enforcing the regulatory frameworks that support NSWRM, while stakeholders, including local communities, farmers, and environmental organizations, are essential for the practical application and ongoing maintenance of these measures. This section highlights the importance of stakeholder involvement in NSWRM policy implementation, outlines effective communication and advocacy strategies, and provides examples of successful stakeholder engagement from the OPTAIN project. By fostering strong relationships and open communication channels, we can ensure that NSWRM initiatives receive the support and resources needed for long-term success.
