Dissemination of NSWRM-related insights was structured to ensure clarity, transparency and policy relevance. The goal was not broad promotion alone, but the effective translation of technical results into formats that support informed discussion.

Several complementary strategies were applied:

  • Development of the Learning Environment platform, providing structured policy-oriented content

  • Preparation of concise summaries linking modelling outputs to key environmental objectives

  • Organisation of training sessions and workshops supporting interpretation of indicators and optimisation results

  • Use of the Common Working Environment (CWE) to ensure transparent documentation and traceability of analytical workflows

Dissemination materials were carefully aligned with major European policy domains, including CAP priorities, Water Framework Directive objectives and climate adaptation strategies. This alignment strengthens coherence between scientific findings and policy language.

Importantly, recommendations were framed as analytical insights derived from harmonised modelling, socio-economic assessment and stakeholder dialogue. This ensures that conclusions remain grounded in evidence and contextual understanding, rather than prescriptive policy statements.

By combining structured communication, capacity building and transparent analytical reporting, OPTAIN enhances the accessibility of NSWRM-related knowledge and supports more informed policy conversations across Europe.
