Nitrogen Retention Study (2000–2015)

This study assessed nitrogen retention across 860 ha of restored wetlands in the Odense catchment between 2000 and 2015. It found a 39% reduction in total N export (377 t/year), of which 124 t/year was directly linked to restored sites. The results confirm that large-scale wetland restoration significantly improves nutrient retention at catchment scale.
