Abstract
This article outlines the goals, funding, and outcomes of the FRISCO 2.1 project, implemented under the Interreg V-A Slovenia–Croatia cooperation programme. The project's main objective was to modernize and upgrade the Vonarje dam to reduce transboundary flood risks. It included upgrading hydro-mechanical and electrical installations. The article emphasizes the bilateral nature of the intervention, highlights environmental and economic benefits, and describes its contribution to climate adaptation and regional safety.
