Abstract
This RIS describes Lonjsko Polje as a major floodplain of the Sava River, dominated by alluvial forests (oak, ash), wet grasslands, watercourses, oxbows and wetlands. Home to rare species like four‑leaf clover, otter, eagles and over 20 000 waterbirds regularly, it plays a pivotal role in natural flood retention and biodiversity in the Danube basin.
