Abstract
During an emergency in early November 2023, UAB Kretingos Vandenys released 6,405.6 m³ of untreated wastewater into the Tenžė River. Sampling by the Environmental Protection Department showed pollutant concentrations exceeded norms (e.g. BOD7 nearly 2.8x, suspended solids 11.2x), but heavy rainfall led to strong dilution and no significant environmental harm was detected. Authorities stressed that such incidents must not recur.
