Abstract
The municipality of Kretinga issued a call in 2024 urging residents and businesses to voluntarily disconnect illegal stormwater connections from the wastewater system. Inspections revealed approximately 60% of properties had illicit connections. The notice warned that after June 1, 2025, failure to comply could result in financial penalties — up to €1,000 annually for households and much higher fines for businesses.
