DaLeA – permanent living mulch in arable farming (EU CAP Network Good Practice Report, PDF)

Year
2024
Abstract
Three-page good practice report structured as Summary, Context, Objectives, Activities, Main results, and Key lessons. It confirms the trial design over three years and three locations, compares clover living mulch against a non-mulch variant, and details measured or observed outcomes: improved water retention and erosion control, reduced nutrient losses (nitrogen), lowered inputs with comparable contribution margin, and a reduced yield gap from 30–40 percent to 10–14 percent by year three. It records project financing (total 304,685 EUR; EAFRD 300,000 EUR; private 4,685 EUR), timeframe (16/09/2019–31/08/2023), and promoter contact. It also describes knowledge transfer actions such as field days and dissemination. For the case study, this PDF is the primary, citable project narrative supporting hydrological and agronomic claims
