Abstract
Announcement of a World Wetlands Day cleanup at Zlato pole by RIEW Haskovo staff and students. The article summarizes the site’s values: only wetland in RIEW Haskovo’s area; habitats include old Maritsa meanders, shrubs, grasslands and farmland; notable species include Pygmy Cormorant (winter roost up to ~2,000), heron colony species, Ferruginous Duck, and Syrian spadefoot populations.
