Public-facing overview of Šumava wetlands and the cross-border LIFE for MIRES project (2018–2024). Explains why mires matter for biodiversity, water retention and climate moderation; outlines the restoration need after historic drainage and sets goals to re-establish natural hydrology across ~2,059 ha via ditch blocking and stream restoration, with extensive outreach and education. Includes partners and contacts, with a link to the project site.
